applied microSWISS was founded in 1999 in Switzerland. Having established manufacturing processes for UV-LiGA shims, hot-embossing stamps and injection molding inserts, the company has always aimed at expanding its technological portfolio to address increasing customer demands. The unique combination of experience in both conventional-toolmaking and microtechnology has enabled microSWISS to deliver high-end products ever since.

In 2004, applied microSWISS announced the exclusive possibility of manufacturing pattern with an adjustable sidewall inclination. This feature has been well accepted by the polymer-replication community. This feature allows the easy demolding (separation of tool from replica). Additional features such as wear-resistant hard coatings as well as antisticking-coatings have become standards.

applied microSWISS' operations are located in Balzers, Liechtenstein. The company is privately owned and has well-established collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
